The Velari 3-ring bit with 20 mm tongue relief offers a firmer feel for horses that benefit from a clearer rein connection. It supports clearer aids and can help reduce leaning without resorting to metal. Although firmer than the Soft and Medium versions, the bit retains a smooth, rounded surface to avoid unnecessary pressure points.
Made of a firm, non-toxic plastic material, the surface remains smooth and safe while offering maximum clarity of aids. The material is free from pollutants and suitable for long-term use. Although firmer than the Soft and Medium options, it still avoids the coldness and inflexibility of traditional metal bits and is thus a thoughtful choice for riders who need more precise communication.
This bit features fixed tongue relief that offers stability, clear contact and pressure relief on the tongue. The mouthpiece retains its shape under pressure, which makes it ideal for horses that tend to lean or become heavy in softer bits. The mouthpiece distributes pressure evenly across the bars. The tongue relief gives the tongue more space and shifts the pressure from the centre of the tongue onto the bars. This makes the bit ideal for horses that react sensitively to tongue pressure or tend to stick the tongue out.
The 3-ring model combines leverage and a lifting effect. The intensity of the aid is determined by where the reins are attached — if they are buckled to the lowest ring, taking up the reins activates a short lever.

Care & use
After every ride rinse the bit with warm water and dry with a soft cloth. Store in a dry place and check regularly for even, smooth wear.
